How many songs do you really need on your ipod

most of us are guilty we have way to many songs on our ipod. Right now i have 1681 songs on mine.. and in all honesty i listen to most of them regularly and dont care how many times they come up on the shuffle.. We have our break-up songs (most songs by linkin park).. songs for homework (some art farmer, miles davis)..the ones where you just wanna be alone (thrice - artist in the ambulance)... then there are the plethra of rediculous songs that you put on your ipod that you will listen to once maybe twice that were put on your ipod in joke.. can you handle barbie girl by aqua.. the little mermaid song or anything by kate nash on more than a few occasions.. i know that i cant.. but i just cant seem to delete them they are a staple song and good for a laugh when i need it most... soo i think this is an occasion when you need to look deep down and hit that shuffle button on your ipod and decide do i really need these songs???

Madi Diaz

Music opens your mind to new ideas. You get the chance to experience something soo routine in a different light. There is this song by Madi Diaz that really caught my attention. It is called canvas and it is using personification at the highest level. originally she had no idea what she would write about for her song writing class.. and she came into the class said canvas and her teacher told her that she should go with it....... my faviorite line out of the whole song.. is
This alarm clock chains me to the sunrise...

the big music companies are being mean!

I think it is positively absurd that radio stations will have to pay royalties to artists and bands whenever they play a song on their station. This could be detrimental to the health of many people and businesses.. we shall start with the simple ones... garage bands that want to make a living in the music industry are going to have a much harder time getting their songs on the air because they aren't going to want to pay a band that might make it they want the sure thing that they know kids or adults will listen to.
the next issue at hand is the Radio Stations and how this will affect them. Lets for instance take a look at the small stations with a small spectrum of listeners to begin with. These are stations that cant afford the a 24 hour full time live dj because they are too costly. radio stations run solely on advertising and a small station will most likely rely on small businesses to fuel their income. If this royalty law gets passed then stations will have to raise their advertising prices. This in turn will be too expensive for the small businesses and they wont be able to pay for the air time.. potential customers will not be able to learn about these companies and businesses will fold and go out of business.
This royalty act is a cry of help from the recording companies and artists to compensate for illegal downloading!!!

Dream

Soo this is a song i wrote (with help from paul) it needs some work but i figured this would be the perfect place to get some feedback on it.. I think im gonna put it to a melody that i am writing on the piano.. slow but uplifting..let me know wat you think :-)

DREAM

I wake to find you just a dream,

You’re my best kept secret

You’re the one thing that keeps me going

all day long

I wish you were by my side.

But I know it cant be so,

I want to find a better place

where we dont have to hide

What difference does it make

Who cares who we are

How we dress or

Where we are from

What matters is that you care

That you can love and

Always think of others

You aren’t afraid to take a double dare

I see you and we share a glance

We know what we both want

To scared to change the status quo

Always waiting for you.

I take a stand

For the final prize

Once upon a time

Make my dream a reality

What difference does it make

Who cares who we are

How we dress or

Where we are from

What matters is that you care

That you can love and

Always think of others

You aren’t afraid to take a double dare

Ipods Should be Allowed in School

every once in a while you need to just chill. For most of us it means that we listen to music. Ipods are not being allowed in school because they dont want us listening to them in the hall or in class. They are ban from the library which makes no sense. Playing our music too loud is obviously unacceptable but what about the kid who just wants to get his homework done without listening to the people at the next table talk about their crazy weekend. For some music can be a distraction but for others it is a way to concentrate. I always listen to music. I have it on when i am on the computer, cleaning my room, and in my car. When i dont have the radio or my ipod going, then i sing or play an instrument. It is a proven fact that music helps to stimulate the brain. I wonder... if we were to challenge the administration and had a good reason... could they turn us down on our request for music??

The universal language

Music is the only universal language in the entire world. It can be written, voiced, or instrumental. If you think about it there is no other language that will be understood in all 195 or so countries. The technique of writing music has been passed down through the ages. Composing started in the Baroque period with musicians such as; Bach, Handel, Vividali and Corelli. Music is the only language that crosses all linguistic barriers.
7 notes make up this language. each name for the note may be different depending on the area of where it is in the world, but all have the same tone.
Music is all around us and is in place in our everyday lives.

In the event of rain... the band will still play

In the event of rain... yes the band will still play.. in the event of snow sleet and hail the band will still play. Sitting or Standing.. wrapped in our ponchos our music will reach the opposite side of the field rattling our opponents. jeopardy on a time out, dragnet on a kickoff and we mustn't forget three blind mice on a bad call. We take pride in our school song no matter how many times we play it. We do it to support our team, and for the love of music. like the cheerleaders we let our players know that we want them to succeed and are there for them no matter what the outcome may be. we are the High School Marching Band
